Conor McGregor UNRANKED!!!

Conor McGregor has finally been taken off the UFC Lightweight rankings. It is about damn time. Someone had to say it. I will never badmouth Conor, but his last win in the Lightweight division was way back when he won the title in 2016 against Eddie Alvarez. What was keeping Conor in the rankings is the real question. The only thing I can think of is the fact that he is the UFC's most captivating superstar in the history of the sport.

Conor has certainly had his fair share of controversy outside the octagon, but inside the octagon, Conor will probably forever be the UFC's greatest draw. As a headliner, he holds all five of the top five most-viewed pay-per-views. That is truly incredible. However, it shouldn't be enough to take spots away from deserving competitors.

Conor has been out of the USADA testing pool for about a year now and is nowhere near ready to fight. According to Dana White, Conor will be fighting Michael Chandler in his return. When? Still up in the air, if I had to guess the card, it would probably be 289 in Las Vegas. International fight week in July will probably be the date, based on my math that will be UFC 289. A win over Chandler would probably surge Conor right back into the rankings. Hopefully, this is the route they go because McGregor vs Chandler would be an absolute slobber-knocker for the ages!
