Fights That Need To Be Booked Immediately: Matt "Steamrolla" Frevola vs Paddy "The Baddy" Pimblett

After Matt "Steamrolla" Frevola cracked the titanium chin of Drew Dober he told Joe Rogan and the people of New Jersey, he'd like to steamroll the Baddy, Paddy Pimblett. Personally, being born and raised on Long Island, and after seeing Paddy vs Jarred Gordon live...I would LOVE to see Seamrolla put the Baddy to bed. We all still have that sour taste of a fixed fight in our mouths left over from UFC 282 months ago in December and if anyone is going to be able to "knock out the scouser" it's the Steamrolla. Drew Dober has never lost via KO/TKO in his time in the UFC. Until he faced off against Frevola. Somehow, Matt holds beyond knockout power within his punches to be able to put Dober down like that. Was I shocked Frevola beat Dober? Absolutely not, check my picks post below. I'm just in awe of the fashion Steamrolla "steamrolled" Dober so early, but Frevola thrives in the firefights.

Pimblett said Frevola would be his "easiest route to the top 15" in the form of an Instagram comment after being called out. This isn't necessarily agreeing to fight Frevola, but it certainly adds drama. Today, Frevola was added to the Lightweight rankings as the number 14th Lightweight. As much as I wanna see Frevola continue to take on top 15 opponents, seeing him vs Pimblett makes too much sense. Frevola is on fire right now on a three-fight win streak, while Pimblett is 4-0 in the UFC. Pimblett is already such a big name in the company, everyone wants to fight him. However, everyone knows he lost his last fight, you can't argue he won a single round. Jarred Gordon dominated him and was robbed by the judges. I don't think Frevola would allow the fight to go the distance, even if that means dying by the sword. Pimblett also needs the biggest fight he can get and after Frevola defeated Dober, he has it.

Bias aside, I still think Frevola is the better fighter here and has a way better support system. Paddy's team seems to be filled with yes men which doesn't work in the fight game. You need your coaches to be real and be honest with you and that's what Ray Longo and Matt Serra are. They know MMA and the UFC better than the majority of the MMA coaches you see. It's always the guys from this gym that you have to worry about. Matt Serra himself beat GSP when the world doubted him, and Chris Weidman beat Anderson Silva when the world doubted him. The world still doubts Aljamain Sterling and he's still the cream of the crop out of the 135-pounders. These guys are just trained differently. Hopefully, Dana and the UFC give the fans what they want, because no matter who's side you're on Frevola vs Pimblett has Fight of the Night written all over it, but who are we kidding any fight with Steamrolla has Fight of the Night potential.
