Pimblett vs Moicano?

Paddy "The Baddy" Pimblett is becoming quite the captivating superstar through his first few fights in the UFC. Paddy's last bout against Jared Gordon had a very controversial decision when Paddy won unanimously at UFC 282. Since the decision, many fighters have taken to Twitter that they want a piece of the Baddy. Frankly, there isn't really a good matchup for Pimblett. Does Paddy have skill? Absolutely, but he is not ready for someone like Renato Moicano, the thirteenth-ranked fighter in the Lightweight division.

After UFC 282, Moicano tweeted "The hype is over #UFC282." On December 16th, Moicano tweeted "Kamaru is hurt...The fight to make in London is @Leon_edwards vs @gamebredfighter and the co main event MOICANO vs paddy pimblett ATT VS LONDON #ufc #mma #americantopteam." Moicano suggested Masvidal replace Usman at UFC 286. We think otherwise and actually have another blog post on why it should be Belal Muhammed to replace Usman, but this isn't about the main event at UFC 286. We are talking the co-main. To be completely honest Moicano just looks far too dangerous for Paddy right now. Watch the Moicano vs Riddell fight if you haven't already, watch the Pimblett vs Gordon fight. Then tell me Paddy is ready for Moicano. You can not. If Paddy were to win, it would do leaps and bounds for his career. I imagine he'd become ranked, it would also flip the script depending on how he won. Currently, nothing is scheduled and there are a lot of names out there chomping at the bits to get their hands on Paddy "The Baddy." Another name beside Renato Moicano would be Ilia Topuria. Pimblett and Topuria have had their fair share of back-and-forth interactions at both of their last two fight pressers. Paddy and Ilia both fought at UFC 282 and before that both fought at the last Fight Night in London. It is hard to tell if the UFC is doing this on purpose, but their confrontations have been entertaining. Topuria also mentioned he would go up to 155 just to beat down "The Baddy." There are a lot of routes for the UFC to take with Paddy, I imagine they go the safe route and Paddy's next fight is someone we most likely have never heard of.
