TUF Episode 2 Review!

This week on TUF was surprisingly entertaining. If the rest of the season looks more like episode two than episode one, we have a fun season ahead. The fight we expected to see, we didn't. Trevor Wells caught a rash on his face from either the mats or the script. However, it caused a more dramatic episode which caused more comical moments for the fans. For example, when Chandler had to get centimeters away from Timur Valiev's face only to tell him his fight was canceled. The fight we got was Cody Gibson (Chandler) vs Mando Gutierrez (McGregor).

Honestly, the build was nowhere near nauseating like it was last week. We got to know Mando pretty quickly which offered us a funny scene of him cutting Conor's hair because he is a barber on the side. Cody Gibson and Chandler shared some cool moments as well because Cody was adopted while Chandler has adopted two children of his own. Mando was the fan favorite in my household. He seemed pretty captivating, the cowboy hat was fun, and seeing McGregor wear the hat while coaching was hysterical. That said Cody was kind of putting Mando through a clinic. Yet, it was cool to see Conor offer coaching advice and Mando actually listen. I don't know how great the advice was because Mando ended up getting finished round one, but honestly, it was a fun fight, the coaching was there, and I'm ready for next week's episode.

The one thing that did throw me for a spin was the fact that Islam Makhachev didn't make an appearance. In last week's trailer, he was clearly on set. I don't know when or why we're getting the Lightweight Champ, but he is inevitable.

All in all, I really enjoyed this week's episode. The interactions in the TUF house allowed us to get to know the fighters a little better and honestly, the interactions and the fights are way better than the long intros at introducing us to our cast of fighters. Roosevelt Roberts is bad vibes, he was the only highlight from last week, but this week he showed his true colors in the TUF house. He's just drama, or at least the script wants him to be. Regardless, we now have two wins for team Chandler. Hopefully, Conor's team can grab some W's because he made episode two a 7.4 compared to last week's 6.0.

Conor is the reason we're all here and I'm glad to see him having fun cage side. Also seeing him just chill with the boys in the TUF house always causes for some comedic moments.
