UFC 285: The Return of the King, Jon "Bones" Jones, is Finally Upon Us!

After three years of anticipation, Jon "Bones" Jones fight week is finally here. UFC 285, Bones is set to return to the octagon against Ciryl Gane in the main event for the UFC Heavyweight Championship. Jon Jones is the greatest fighter of all time. He has been trying to fight for the Heavyweight Championship for three years. Fans around the world have been waiting to see Jon become a heavyweight. Jon has been 265 lbs (the Heavyweight max) for a while now, after his dominant reign at 205 lbs in the Light Heavyweight division. Jon's last win (against Dom Reyes) is very controversial in the eyes of many. Yet, when you look at the fight stats, Jon only landed twelve fewer strikes, but had two takedowns compared to Dom's zero, and had more control time. At the end of the day, Dom Reyes didn't do nearly enough to Bones to earn the victory. In all fairness, the fight against Reyes wasn't Jon's best performance. However, recently some of Jon Jones's training and sparring sessions have been leaked all over the internet. Jon looks huge, and Jon looks good. FNM Fightchannel on Youtube posted a nice compilation of Bones's training. You should check it out.

Bones looks extremely scary. Not only, does he look scary, but Jon looks ready to take down any Heavyweight in the division. Ciryl Gane is a tough task for anyone, but he got out-grappled by Ngannou in his only defeat. Jon's take-down ability looks fantastic in the brief moments you can see in this video. The thought of a 265-pound Jon is intimidating, to say the least, but the sight tells me Gane is in for a world of hurt this Saturday Night. Jon watches so much tape on his opponents as well. In the past, Jon has mentioned how before he goes into each fight, he knows what makes his opponent flinch, what his opponent's favorite strikes are when they like to shoot, etc. No one has ever seemed to be able to match Jon's fight IQ inside the octagon. We'll see this Saturday Night if Gane can.

UFC 285 isn't all about the return of the GOAT. Valentina Shevchenko will face Alexa Grasso in a Women's Flyweight Championship bout. After a dominant win over Vicente Luque, Geoff Neal thinks he can climb the undefeated mountain of Shavkat Rakhmonov which should be a really exciting Welterweight bout. Lightweight up-and-comer Jalin Turner will have his hardest test against Mateusz Gamrot in a Lightweight bout between the tenth and seventh-ranked Lightweight fighters. Finally, to open the card the highly anticipated UFC debut of Bo Nickal against Jamie Pickett in a Middleweight bout. To quote Elton John "Saturday night's alright for a fight!" Well, this Saturday night is alright for five!

DraftKings Main Card Fight Lines Preview:

Jon Jones (-165) vs Ciryl Gane (+140)

Shavkat Rakhmonov (-490) vs Geoff Neal (+390)
