It's time to break down our picks for tomorrow night's fight card. UFC 289 is here and I hope Vancouver is ready. I have six picks for you and I'm gonna break them down using the DraftKings odds. Nassourdine Imavov (-155) vs Chris Curtis (+135) is a fight that should be on the main card. These are the twelfth and fourteenth-ranked Middleweight Fighters respectively. Regardless I have to take Curtis (+135), The Action Man is a dangerous fighter with a chip on his shoulder. Not to mention, his training partner Sean Strickland whipped Imavov's ass in January. Opinion Octagon is also taking both Canadians on the main card. Marc-Andre Barriault (-135) over Eryk Anders (+115) and Mike Malott (-205) over Adam Fugitt (+175). They're only on the main card because the card is in Vancouver and it feels like Fugitt and Anders are layups so the crowd can get hyped up before the co-main event.
Sandwiched in between the hometown fights is Dan "50K" Ige (-250) vs Nate "The Train" Landwehr (+220). Landwehr is on a three-fight win streak while Dan Ige is 1-3 in his last four. Ige is Nate The Train's toughest opponent to date, but I believe Landwehr is legit and will prove that against 50K. Nate The Train (+220) is the pick.
Now for the co-main event of the evening. Charles Oliveira (+125) vs Beneil Dariush (-145) is going to be an on-edge experience. Honestly, either guy can win this bout. However, I don't think Charles can defeat Islam based on their bout in October, and for some reason, I feel like Beneil will be the guy to dethrone Islam. Yet, he must win tomorrow for that to happen and he's on an eight-fight win streak and seems to be ready for his title opportunity. On the other hand, Charles has amazing knockout power and holds the most submissions in UFC history, he should never be doubted. Still, Dariush is just so big for a Lightweight and is on fire right now so I have to take him (-145).
Amanda Nunes (-320) vs Irene Aldana (+265) isn't going the distance. Aldana is a boxer and is going to press Amanda, whether she can land a clean KO on Amanda, or Amanda can compromise Aldana's attack and knock her out or submit her I just can't see them letting this one go to the judges. Amanda is the greatest of all time, so on that alone, I can't bet against her, but I feel like Irenen might sleep her, and could be a really good underdog play. Yet, Opinion Octagon is going with Double Chance Winning Method: KO/TKO/DQ or Submission (-250). The Opinion Octagon Parlay (+4507) is a 6-pick parlay if you wanted to opt into parlaying all of the picks together. Good luck this weekend and may the best fighters win!
I think Aldana is gonna do it!
