We're doing things a little differently this week at Opinion Octagon HQ. Instead of running one big parlay on DraftKings, I'm doing two little ones. Not that I haven't had success in 2023, because I'm 24/35 on bets for the year and 28/35 on strictly picking outcomes. I've just been wrestling with my mind over this week's main event for months. Truth be told I feel like either guy can win tomorrow between Chito and Cory. I also don't want to see either guy lose. It's just one of those fights. That said we'll get to the main event later.
Andrea Lee (+220) vs Maycee Barber (-260) could be a fun one. Maycee Barber on a three-fight win streak feels like a lock. Barber via decision (-110) might be a smart play as her last five fights have all gone to a decision win or lose. Andrea Lee is coming off of a loss but isn't necessarily trending down. However, Barber's last loss was to the new Flyweight Champion Alexa Grasso who is on fire. I think Maycee gets the win here.
Nate Landwehr (-200) vs Austin Lingo (+170) is a really interesting fight. The way Nate Landwehr is he's either going to get knocked out, or he'll beat you. Austin Lingo isn't a KO artist, all of his UFC fights have gone the distance win or lose. I think Landwehr is going to get the victory and Landwehr straight up is the play.
Holly Holm (-245) vs Yana Santos (+205) is another weird fight for me to call, I usually never take fighters in their 40's, but I'm taking Holly Holm with a double chance winning method via TKO/KO/DQ or Decision (-225). Holm maybe 41, but her last three fights have gone to a decision and she's won two of them. Santos got knocked out in her last bout against Irene Aldana in 2021. Neither fighter has fought since 2021.
Now for the main event. Chito Vera (+135) vs Cory Sandhagen (-155). I'm adding Chito straight up to the first parlay with Barber, Landwehr, and Holm for (+1488) total parlay odds. I'm also putting a unit on this SGP parlay. Over 3.5 rounds (-210), Chito to land more significant strikes (+215), at least one knockdown landed (-280), and Chito to win (+140) for (+625) total SGP odds.
