Magomed Ankalaev was recently robbed of earning his belt on Saturday at UFC 282.
At UFC 282 Magomed Ankalaev had suffered the fate of Sal D'Amato's lack of decision-making. However this is old news, by now you must have heard that Glover Teixeira and Jamahal Hill are fighting in Brazil at UFC 283. Glover was originally the one who was robbed of his opportunity to fight for the belt this past card, so I don't think anyone is upset about him getting that opportunity back. Plus, now he gets to potentially become champion in his home country which is awesome. As for Jamahal Hill, he was eventually going to get his title shot with seven of his eleven wins being finishes. The funny thing about Hill is that both he and Ankalaev are connected by their only losses coming from the Bearjew himself, Paul Craig. That said, I do believe Hill vs Ankalaev for the championship is inevitable one of these days. Regardless of who wins between Teixeira and Hill, Ankalaev deserves to be next in line after the championship rounds of his fight against Jan Blachowicz. Ankalaev being next in line would somewhat leave Jan in the dust, but Magomed was the winner in the majority's eyes. The Light Heavyweight division is a mess right now, and it is going to get messier in a year and a half or so when Jiri makes his return to the octagon.
